JOVI | MONGSHUNG | SINGLE | LISTEN & SHARE

Jovi releases his new song “Mongshung” produced by Le Monstre. Fresh out of the frying pan and into the fryer. With the increase in popularity of social media comes the increasing pressure to look happy, wealthy, and desirable. “Mongshung” addresses the fakeness that exists in today’s society and rings true throughout various cultures. Jovi’s new song explains that most of what we see today, whether in pictures or videos, or posts, is not really what is seems. With humor and punchlines, Jovi raps in French about how people today try to portray themselves in the most favorable light, whether it be renting jets for a video shoot or borrowing luxury bags from a friend to take a selfie, but it’s all “Mongshung” (deception). With his polished signature electro-trap fusion, Le Monstre combines round, punchy bass, with lilting guitar lines, and electronic accents, to create a genre of hip hop that is uniquely African.

HIT BOY Feat RICKY ANTHONY | FEELS | SINGLE | LISTEN & DOWNLOAD

Hit-Boy has been dropping off new songs at a weekly clip since the top of the year. Last week, it was "TD Celebration" ft. Rich The Kid and Donnie Trumpet. This week, it's "Feels" feat. Ricky Anthony.
Hit-Boy says he started the song by laying down the keyboard parts -- a bouncier, inquisitive melody line over a mellow, low-end electric piano pad -- and took it from there. "Feels" will appear on Zoomin 2, which might be coming sooner than you think.
"The full EP will be released as soon as it is completed," Hit-Boy says. "Could be tomorrow could be this summer. Ha."
Ha.

HIT BOY Feat RICH THE KID & DONNIE TRUMPET | TD CELEBRATION | SINGLE | LISTEN & DOWNLOAD

Hit-Boy dropped the first installment of the Zoomin series in September, and recently he's been hinting heavily that the sequel isn't far on the horizon. With "TD Celebration," his new release featuring Rich The Kid and Donnie Trumpet from the Social Experiment, it's official -- Zoomin 2 is on the way.
Just in time for the Super Bowl, "TD Celebration" evokes your high school marching band getting turnt at the football game. "Going Cam Newton on these fuckboys," Hit-Boy raps.
"I’ve been working with Rich the Kid for a minute now, and I found a record I thought he would shine on, in the pocket, so I had to throw him on it," he said. "Me and Donnie (Trumpet) have done a ton of work over the past few years, so having him play trumpet on this record took it to a crazier level and gave it a richer, epic feeling."
Stream "TD Celebration" and keep an eye out for that Zoomin 2 release date.

JOVI | PUTA MADRE | EP | LISTEN & DOWNLOAD

Jovi releases his new EP Puta Madre. With his signature style of African rap, Jovi delivers a sound like no other African artist. From his energetic “How Many So Many” featuring the spit-fire Pascal, to “Help Me Help You” featuring the smooth Limbum rapping Tata, Jovi continues to push the envelope with his lyrics and production. Fusing English, French, and Pidgin, and collaborating with producers Kiloh and Chavez, Puta Madre, is a blend of new school and old school hip hop. Heavily trap-influenced, sprinkled with a breakbeat feel, and containing Le Monstre’s original sampling, Puta Madre rings in the New Year with Jovi’s humor, wit, and irreverence.

NJ | MON R&B | MIXTAPE | LISTEN & DOWNLOAD
